Humbly Serve

In the previous session Dina discussed the importance of values. Commitment to an organization’s core values begins with the leadership team. In this session, Dina will unpack two ways leaders can model values to employees.

A servant leader sets aside his or her needs for the good of others. Being a servant leader often means going unrecognized and under-appreciated. But as Dina said, it doesn’t matter who gets credit because it’s not about us.

Servant leadership has the potential to transform the way you lead and the employees you influence. Write down three ways you can serve the people in your company this week. Put them into practice as you go about your workweek.

Always Learn

Another way leaders can live out their values is by adopting a learning posture. In addition to walking in humility as they serve employees, leaders can continue to learn from others in order to grow. Listen to what Dina has to say about learning as a leader.

Learning never stops—even for leaders. Dina tries to learn everyday so she can grow as leader and as a person. She listens to audio books, sits down with other leaders, and seeks advice from mentors.

A leader who humbly serves, looks for opportunities to learn, and prays has a firm foundation to lead from. Consider how you lead this week. Write out the areas you see room for growth, sit down with a mentor, and come up with ways you can grow moving forward.
