Know Your Destination

As leaders, it’s our responsibility to prepare our people to face the future and succeed. That begins with what Steve Reinemund calls vision. Steve worked with PepsiCo for 23 years, and served the last six of those years as the CEO of the company. He saw exciting things happen through the globalization of the company. When he retired from PepsiCo, he became the Dean of Business at Wake Forest University where he dedicated his time to equipping new leaders to face the brave new world of business. Listen as Steve outlines the demands of the marketplace today.

Steve points out that the most successful companies going forward will be those that have the clearest vision, the simplest tactics, and the best execution. Vision and values, then, are important. We have to know where we’re going and what values will guide us to our destination.

Steve mentions that Apple and Chick-fil-A have engaged the changing landscape of the marketplace well. Does either of those companies impress you with their business model? If so, why? What about them?
