Cultivate a Culture of Care

The Power of Comfort

How often do you think of your work as a place of care and comfort? Donnie Smith, the President and CEO of Tyson Foods Inc., works to build a culture at Tyson where employees know they can find comfort in the most difficult times of their lives. In this video from the WorkMatters FUSE Forum, Donnie explains the importance of a culture of care.

Almost every plant and facility in the Tyson Foods corporation has a chaplain that provides counseling and comfort to employees free of charge. This has created a culture of care in the company, where employees take it upon themselves to show compassion and bring comfort to hurting team members. Coworkers become more than coworkers—they become friends.
