Worship While You Work

Even Better Than Whistling

In the middle of a busy work week, the stresses of a job can leave us out of focus and just hoping to make it to Friday. Doug McMillon, the President and CEO of Walmart, understands that, sometimes, bad days happen. In this video from the WorkMatters FUSE Forum, Doug argues that we can learn to worship God throughout the day, and, ultimately, transform how we work.

Worship is knowing who God is and responding appropriately. Many believers limit that response to a few hours on a Sunday morning. But God doesn't go on vacation when we head into the office. Doug points out that to be a Christian means consistently living out our faith in every aspect of our lives. And that includes our nine-to-fives.

Worship does end when the guitar goes silent or the hymn book closes. As a follower of Jesus, we can and should continue to worship our God throughout the week—particularly at work. By maintaining a focus on who God is and what He has done, we can live out our faith every hour of every day. This week, worship while you work.
