God Uses Broken People featuring Max Lucado

In this honest and emotional interview, Jon shares how his struggles with sin led to dire emotional, physical, and spiritual consequences.

I love Jon's story, since it reminds us that no matter what someone has done, God can still use them for His glory and to help others find forgiveness. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We all struggle with sin and need to know how to respond. In this clip, Max Lucado, best-selling author and pastor of Oaks Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, talks about what our response to God should be when we sin, and what God expects of us in return.

Max said that the first step in dealing with sin is to confess it before God, to "come clean" with God. Then we are to believe that He has forgiven us and that He still wants to use us to change His world. Why is it important that we are honest with God about our failures? Doesn't He know about them already? How can you encourage the members of your small group with this teaching from Max?

How does Max's list of "sinners" in the Bible help you evaluate how God could use you, or the members of your group? Since God is able to forgive murderers, adulterers, liars, and deceivers, what does that imply about how we should forgive others?
